We'd read that Trier (a German town, just over the border from Lux) was worth the visit if you had time. So we decided that my last Friday night, on our way to the airport for our weekend in Rome, was the time to stop in. Good thing we did 'cause we found the most fun summer all-town party! We ate yummy brats and drank great German beer. Plus we happened upon a couple of finds in the music industry (pay attention to the 2 videos in this set of
pictures). The town had blocked off the whole city center to make it into what felt like a county fair. They had food and drink vendors nearly every 20 feet, and bands spread out among the many fingers of streets. The 3 white guys were my favorite (again, see the video). Trier, needless to say, was a hit! (and I'm pretty sure we missed out on a bunch of historical sights, but at least we saw Porta Nigra which was pretty cool! Not sure exactly what it was, but hey, it looked old and special).
